City of Melbourne Act 2001, Section 9B(1)
This form is for property owners who want to enrol for Melbourne City Council elections. To be eligible you must:
be 18 years old, or will turn 18 on or before the next Melbourne City Council elections day
own (solely or jointly) a rateable property in the City of Melbourne.
You must not already be enrolled on the State electoral roll at a property in the City of Melbourne.
You do not need to be an Australian citizen.

Voting in Melbourne City Council elections is compulsory for every enrolled voter.
Please note:
For this application to be effective we must receive it before the roll closes for the next Melbourne City Council elections.
All owners of the rateable property must be named, and one owner must provide consent for the request (they cannot be one of the two people requesting to be enrolled for the property).
The person applying to enrol as a property owner must sign this form.
Up to two joint owners are entitled to enrol for a rateable property.
A rateable property is a property on which the City of Melbourne charges municipal rates.
If one or more of the owners of the property is a corporation, this form is not applicable. Please refer to
Form B – Enrolment of Joint Owners’ or Joint Occupiers’ Representatives.
This enrolment is only valid for one council term. If you still own the property in the next council elections you may re-apply for enrolment before the elections.
